Thank you to whoever has taken the time to explore my website and the pieces I have enjoyed creating. I thought it was time to tell you who I am and a little about myself, so here goes.

I have been studying Fine Art for years now and am currently in my third year at the University of Chester. I won't lie to you when I say sometimes, I have not understood and could not comprehend how some art creations have had a drastic impact on many viewers. What I mean by this is, to me, as an aspiring artist, I have never understood how painting a canvas black could be considered as art. Throughout my time studying my degree, I have come to terms with how many individuals understand and see works of art in completely different ways. Art, in many mediums, has such a huge impact on society, it can be the only way an individual is to express themselves, their opinions and beliefs.

I have a somewhat busy life, I have five brothers, three sisters (some who don't live with me), I have five dogs and a cat. I am a full-time student with a part-time job (which can be difficult to juggle) but I manage this easily as I enjoy a busy life, I like to keep on my toes and helping others. I stopped working on my skills within art when someone told me I will get nowhere doing art, it won't lead me to a job etc. I am now a fully qualified hairdresser because of that statement but throughout doing hairstyling, I regained my passion within art. Therefore I decided to study an Access to Higher Education within Art & Design which guided me to University.

The point in me going on about myself is mainly to help my viewers understand that time is precious but also flexible. I never thought I would be in my third year today, if someone told me four years ago that I would have several career pathways in three different subjects, I would have possibly told them to stop dreaming. I will always have my art, not as a hobby, but as a passion, a lifeline, my stress relief that I hope one day viewers enjoy seeing and look forward to what else I produce.

Everybody assumes they have to achieve a goal at a specific age, graduate from University as early as possible. Pass your driving test by the age of 18-19, have a job at 15 or get married and have children before you are 30. I once believed the same things, I thought the only thing I could do is learn how to colour and cut someone's hair and work for someone else. I have done both of those things but never expected to then study fine art in university, or have my work exhibited for others to see, stretching my confidence and comfort zones. I have done though and that is through time. Time is precious if you are passionate about something, interested in a subject or find it boring what you are doing now and want a change. Do it! You only have one life and I can gladly say that although this is a long blog, it is my first one. I need to gain more confidence, improve my professionality and time management but also become more motivated for my artwork.

To whoever is reading this, please try not to cringe at what I have said. Please try to understand my thought process, I encourage you to drop me a message with constructive criticism (it is the only way to learn) as well as feedback and queries. I hope you can look forward to whatever else I create and whatever my next blog may entail!

Don't forget. Use your time wisely and appreciate what you have, you never can realise what you take for granted until it's gone.
